Greetings All,
Anyone venturing to Spain previously would know that you can't just hire/buy a gas bottle in Spain. It was necessary to provide your Passport details and sometimes wait an inordinate length of time for the gas Co. to respond to your request for a bottle. On top of that, the hire was one way, ie you couldn't trade it in at the end of your hols.
I would like to inform all that things have changed.
At Repsol and Campsa Garages you can now hire/buy a lightweight 6kgs Butane bottle. The overall cost is 29Euros with a refill charge of 8.80Euros (The ...

Dordogne site
Have managed to get a riverside pitch for the high season at I think a reasonable cost of 24 euros a night
Just need to find a few stop offs on the way down and back now.
We've been scouting around for summer and moved from west to east and back again!!! Now finally decided on east.
We stayed in Gorges du Loup last year but can't get on this year but wanted to stay in the area to visit Monaco, Nice etc with kids. We are ony thinking of about 5 days and then moving. We don't like it too near the coast as too busy for us, and prefer sites with no entertainment, but don't mind restaurant or bar. I found this site in both Alan Rogers and Caravan Club, has anyone been to it? Or can anyone recommend anything in this area that fits ou...
Kawan Village Les Pêcheurs offers French lessons if you fancy it
In the south east of France, close to Cannes, a campsite (Kawan Village les Pêcheurs) gives French lesson to the foreign campers during the low season.
Imagine, learning French in an ease, over a cup of coffee or a glass of rosé, under palm, pine and mulberry trees, its the perfect class room.
I wouldn't mind, probably get stuck after the wine ordering lesson though

We have taken to using non motorway routes in France but we find the irregularity and uncertainty of fuel stops a tad stressful! OK, most towns have supermarket fuel but as they also have very efficient by passes, it's often too late to stop and accessibility with a 'van can be tricky.
Does anyone know of a website, map or log which marks stations de service/d'essence on major roads? Bit of a mammoth task to log them I know, but someone somewhere may have done it.
Specifically, we shall be going South via Rouen, Chartres, Orleans and using the A77/N7 down to St ...
Been looking at http://www.camping-bastide.com/gb/FrameGb.htm which is at St Foy La Grande, just west of Bergerac. Site is right on the river (Dordogne), and within walking distance of the town.
Have seen a few reports which look OK, but some are a couple of years old, I understand it has been taken over last year by an English couple, but have only seen 1 recent report (good) -there are some more on the ACSI web site, but my Dutch is not that good!
Anybody been there last year??
Hi, Has anyone been to Camping Municipal Wasselonne in Strasbourg. We've never been over this side of the country and are still deciding on whether to go for an east or west route. Decisions! Decisions! There seems to be another site in Strasbourg, Camping de la Montagne Verte. We are thinking of heading towards Strasbourg and having a few days around here before heading towards Grasse in the south. So do we go into Germany. Switzerland into Italy and then into France. Or stay in France and head down south that way. Anyone done this route and can advise I ...
