James Martin will be cooking up some treats at the caravan show

caravanning and camping articles Popular TV Chef and author, James Martin, will be sharing his favourite recipes in a series of live cooking demonstrations at the country’s brand new southern, spring showcase, The Motorhome, Caravan & Camping Show (London ExCeL, 14th – 19th February 2012).

The Yorkshire born chef will draw upon his own ‘meals on the move’ experiences for inspiration; he is the proud owner of a Concorde Carver motorhome and has filmed an entire TV series from the kitchen of an iconic Airstream caravan.

James will be ‘dish’ of the day in the Show’s Cookery Theatre on Thursday 16th and Saturday 18th February offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy first hand the engaging combination of cheerful banter and culinary genius that has firmly established him as one of the nation’s best loved chefs.

The Motorhome, Caravan & Camping Show is the first major show if it’s kind in the south since 2005 and offers visitors the opportunity to see the latest new launches from all the major manufacturers and dealers as well as buy, book and browse great-value holidays.

Travel and tourism experts from across the UK and abroad will be offering destination inspiration with information on a huge choice of great value campsites, holiday parks and day-out attractions. You can also stock up on innovative new gadgets and ‘must not travel without’ essentials on sale from the Accessory Megastores and independent specialists, many at ‘Show-Only’ prices.

The Cookery Theatre is just one of a wealth of free, interactive and entertaining features on offer for every member of the family to enjoy, making a trip to the Show an excellent half-term holiday day-out.

The Caravan Club is the Show’s Official Partner and will be offering free 20 minute one-to-one expert tuition on how to drive a motorhome or tow a touring caravan safely. Both rookies and experienced tourers can use the sessions to build confidence, brush-up on skills and pick-up tips. All sessions are supervised by fully qualified Caravan Club instructors and are free to try (don’t forget your driving license).

The Camping and Caravanning Club is also supporting the Show, providing free advice on choosing the best tents and camping gear according to your requirements and running a series of expert talks on how to turn your dream ‘flydrive’ holiday to far-flung destinations such as Australia, Iceland, South Africa, Argentina, Canada and the USA into reality in ‘Worldwide Escapes’.

An Experts’ Advice Centre and Tent Clinic will help you find solutions to camping, caravanning and motorhoming related quandaries and for younger (or young at heart) visitors there is the chance to enjoy indoor archery lessons plus the chance to have a go at canoeing and kayaking under expert guidance on an indoor pool.

All this for a great-value ticket price starting at just £7 for seniors aged 60+ years and £8 for adults, (if booked before 13th February 2012) with accompanied children under 16 years admitted free of charge. A £1 transaction fee applies to advance bookings. A free comprehensive guide will be available for visitors on entry to the Show.

ExCeL is easy to get to by rail or road and parking at the venue for visitors to The Motorhome, Caravan & Camping Show is free, subject to availability.
