caravanning and camping articles SHOW NEWS UPDATE
Many manufacturers and dealers will be using The Motorhome, Caravan and Camping Show to showcase mid season new model launches, range enhancements and extensions. Details of some of the products on display are included here.

>> MOTORHOMES

Adria
Adria will be displaying a complete portfolio of motorhomes – from its innovative Twin van conversions right up to its latest flagship model, the A-class Super Sonic. Also on show will be selected models from the Coral and Sport coachbuilts. Stand S280

Pay Tribute to Auto-Trail’s newest Frontiers, and more
NEW MODELS - Auto-Trail will be demonstrating why it has established a reputation as a leading luxury manufacturer with a full range of Tracker, Apache and Frontier models on display, including the latest Tracker RS and FB variants. You can also weigh up the amazing option packs (model specific) available – Platinum, Media and/or Media Plus. The award winning competitively priced Tribute range will also be on display at the Show, including two brand new low line models, the 615 and the 715 alongside the latest Tribute high-top, the 669 - a genuine four berth vehicle complete with twin double bed set-up retailing for under £40,000. Bailey’s new Approach to motorhomes
NEW MODELS - Leading UK caravan manufacturer Bailey is currently taking the motorhome world by storm with its all-new motorhome line-up. As well as the Approach range launched at the end of 2011, the ExCeL show will be used to unveil an exciting brand new addition to the model range. Stand N160

The Chausson ones?
French motorhome maker Chausson is known for its innovation combined with the keenest of pricing. A selection of its latest model range will be on display including the Flash 10, 04, 22 and 30, the ever-popular Welcome 78EB, plus the intriguing Suite Maxi and Suite Relax. Stand S190.

Elddis Aspires to the greats
NEW MODELS - Elddis is adding to its upmarket, stylised Aspire range of coachbuilt motorhomes with a new four-berth model. The Aspire 265 features a fixed double bed at the back and L-shaped dinette lounge towards the front. As well as the Aspires, look out for Elddis’ much loved and recently improved budget coachbuilt range under the Autoquest name. Stand N200.

Romahome rolls out the R’s...
NEW MODELS – Romahome will be celebrating its third decade producing compact coach built motorhomes with the unveiling of the R20 Lo, an ExCeL launch exclusive. An ideal substitute for a family car, the R20 Lo boasts four belted seats for travel and is a car park barrier beating 2 metres in height. Stand S418.

Swift quick off the mark with new launches
Swift Group will be exhibiting a full line up of vehicles all with the latest Euro V engines from its Swift, Bessacarr and Escape brands. These include the very latest 2012 versions of the stunning Swift Bolero and Bessacarr E500 series – both now with Al-Ko chassis and Alde heating as standard. Also on Show will be the family-friendly Escape 696. Stand S90.

>> CONVERSIONS

All new for Autocruise
Making their Southern debut will be Autocruise’s new van conversion, the Quartet – claiming to be the first van conversion to provide seating and sleeping accommodation for four people. Based on a Peugeot 2.2 litre diesel Euro 5 engine developing 130bhp with a 6-speed gearbox, it provides the ideal combination of economy and performance. Stand S90

California Dreaming
NEW MODELS - Campervantastic will be launching the all-new VW California Beach at the show and offering those visitors considering their first motor home holiday the option of trying before they buy through their VW rental service. Stand S424a

CMC’s Lucky Starr
Concept MultiCar - As UK agent for leading VW campervan specialist Reimo, from Germany, Kent-based CMC (Concept Multi-Car) will have a line-up of at least five great campervans on its stand including the all new Lucky Starr. Stand S400

Murvi’s sweet new Pimento
NEW MODELS - Multi-award winning specialist van converter Murvi has a new addition to its line-up for this season, the Pimento. Based on the medium-wheelbase Fiat Ducato, it shares a similar layout to sister model the Morello, a long-term favourite with UK motorcaravanners. The Morocco is also on display, a recent addition to the line up and based on the long wheelbase Ducanto. Stand S410

Wellhouse happy with Hyundai
Yorkshire’s Wellhouse Leisure is officially the only company producing campervan conversions using Hyundai’s i800 MPV and it’s certainly reaping the rewards, picking up numerous prizes since its launch at the start of 2010. On show will be both elevating roof and high-top variants. Stand S374


>> TOURING CARAVANS – JUST HITCH UP AND GO

Adria’s wider spectrum
It’s the recently launched Astella that will attract most attention on the Adria stand, with its 8ft wide bodyshell and unique floorplan that puts the kitchen across the front of the ‘van, plus high specification that extends to Alde heating. Also on show will be models from the Adora and Altea ranges, all highlighting Adria’s unique polyester-clad bodywork and interior styling. Look out, also, for the Axcess, designed specifically for wheelchair users. Stand S280.

Family offering from iconic Airstream
NEW MODEL - The International 685 – Airstream’s biggest to date - boasts three fixed bunks at the rear, two berths up front and is based on the 2.5m-wide Series 2 684 which launched in May 2011. The new 685 has been designed in such a way that five people can now sleep in individual comfort. The 685’s rear area becomes a true bedroom suite when the bathroom door is opened 90 degrees, separating the rear from the front of the trailer which can be configured either as a double bed area or two singles. Like the Series 2 684, the new 685 also comes with extended shower, kitchen and seating areas. Also on display will be the premium pitched 684, priced at £70,000. Stand N284

Bailey for the cream of Bristol
NEW MODELS - Come and meet up with the models from the UK’s largest single caravan brand name, Bailey. The Bristol-based manufacturer will be showing off its whole 2012 portfolio – starting with the entry-level, lightweight Orions, the four-strong midmarket Olympus line-up and the flagship Unicorns. The brand new Unicorn Cadiz will be unveiled at ExCeL. Modelled on the popular Pegasus Rimini, Bailey's Unicorn Cadiz offers Alu-Tech bodyshell with Grade III insulation classification and an ever popular Pagasus layout. Catch a first glimpse of the brand new Bailey Retreat, manufactured for those who love the tourer concept but are happy holidaying in one perfect location. Stand N160.

Quality from Coachman
NEW MODELS – Coachman long-respected for the quality of its caravans, has really turned the heat up a few notches with some stunning new looks, inside and out, to nearly all of its portfolio. Plus, there’s more to come. The show will see the launch of new fixed single bed layout models the Pastiche 565/4 and the even more upmarket VIP 565/4. Stand N60.

Slide out style from Eterniti Caravans
NEW MODELS – Eterniti Caravans will be showcasing four layouts of their new “Slide out caravan” range, a four-berth single axle, a five-berth single axle, a four-berth twin axle and a six-berth twin axle will all be available to see for the first time in the South. Stand N190

Hurricane on the way, from Elddis
NEW MODELS - Elddis will be launching an all-new flagship, the Crusader Hurricane, billed as the most luxurious two-berth caravan ever. The Hurricane has a sumptuous U-shape lounge for relaxing, dining and entertaining, which makes up into a large double bed (over 4ftx7ft) with a wide armchair extension. The large U-shape seating also allows the flexibility of sleeping toe-to-toe, without making up the bed. As well as other Crusader variants, there will be Elddis’ own special limited edition Diamond Jubilee models, commemorating the Queen’s 60th anniversary on the throne, featuring a sophisticated and contemporary interior finish in rich, dark wood with contrasting matt cream finish glazed locker doors, complemented by soft feature lighting. Meet the Karrivan multi-functional caravan!
NEW MODELS – A brand new launch from a brand new company is the ‘Karrivan - the multi-functional caravan,’ based on a specially constructed all-aluminium design from the United States of America. It includes a drop-down tailgate that allows users to drive scooters, wheelchairs etc right onto the unit. The UK importer is also working on a bunk bed design. It’s definitely an interesting concept, and you’ll see if first at ExCeL! Stand S44

Lunar’s lightweight luxury mission
NEW MODELS - Lightweight caravans that don’t stint on luxury – that’s what Lunar offers. You can expect to see models from its 23-strong 2012 line-up of Arriva, Quasar, Stellar, Lexon and Delta ranges, including the award-winning Lexon 520 four-berth and, for larger families, the five-berth Delta FB. Also new from Lunar and exclusive to the ExCeL show will be launch of the VENUS brand. Venus will focus on lightweight, compact and affordable caravans offering a choice between four single axle model layouts that range from 2 berth to 4 berth fixed beds. Weights are estimated to range from under 1200kg to less than 900kg. The models are aimed at caravanners who would like a compact, lightweight caravan that is great value for money and extremely practical for touring holidays and short breaks. Stand N110.
Holiday the Swift way
Look out for three super new models in the Challenger Sport and Eccles Sport line-ups making their Southern debut at the Show. They include the four-berth end bathroom 564, four-berth island bed 584 and six-berth side dinette 585. Stand S50.

>> DEALERS AND SPECIAL EDITIONS

Broad Lane hits the Fairway
Leading Midlands caravan dealer Broad Lane Leisure will be bringing its special edition Fairways to the show. Based on Swift’s Challenger Sports, they come with attractively different interiors to match their stylish exteriors, as well as a long list of standard kit extending to exterior barbecue and mains sockets, Ultracomfort mattresses (on fixed bed models), Omnivent, automatic gas change-over, heavy duty corner steadies, Al-Ko Secure Wheel Lock and simply loads more. Campbells’ super specials
Lancashire-based Campbells Caravans & Motorhomes will be unveiling its very latest Cosmos and Kudos caravan ranges, both eight-model line-ups from Lunar and Swift respectively. Cosmos ranges from the tiny two-berth 352 up to the six-berth 556, while the Kudos range is based on Swift’s Challenger Sport range, with enhanced specification including alarm, Ultracomfort mattress on fixed bed models, exterior mains and gas sockets, automatic gas change-over, panoramic sunroof and much more – all complete with ten-year bodyshell warranty. Couplands cops Bessacarrs
The prestigious Bessacarr caravan name lives on in Lincolnshire! But, they’re coming to London, courtesy of the Couplands Caravans dealership, from Louth, which says these latest versions are “arguably the most stylish Bessacarr range to date”. Couplands uses the Bessacarr Cameo make and model name for its very own special edition range of caravans, promising top-end luxury across six different layouts. Stand S60

New exclusives from Lowdhams
As the sole importer for Carthago motorhomes from Germany, Lowdhams Leisureworld will be showing off examples from the premium German brand, alongside others such as Dethleffs. Lowdhams will also have examples of its exclusive special edition Hi-Style motorhomes and Challenger Hi-Style caravans, both ranges built to order by Swift. Stand S130

Meet the new Lifestyles from Marquis
NEW MODELS - Marquis Motorhomes will be unveiling for the first time its very latest Marquis Lifestyle models – its own special edition versions of bestsellers from leading manufacturer Swift. There will be Lifestyle motorhomes and caravans, each range promising an enhanced style and superior specification, but at highly competitive prices. Stand S100

Sussex means success
Sussex Caravan Centre will have its own “Sussex” special edition versions of selected bestsellers from the Coachman, Lunar and Elddis line-ups, as well as Elddis Autoquest motorhomes. They are also offering a lifetime water ingress warranty on a range of special editions. Stand N100

The all-new Karrivans will cause some head scratching on working out the towing ratio - with payloads of 2220kg, that's right about 10x normal, there could be some interesting outfits
