Cooking with gas

Hi,

I'm just getting back into camping after a good 15 years when my then boyf used to take charge of stove andnits associated responsibilities.

I have a new stove which uses Campingaz 907. Worked perfectly on recent trip to Harris. I'm so paranoid about gas though and doing something wrong. Do i take regulator off for travel and storage and replace with little carry handle? Do i leave it on without the hose? Do i leave leave it on until i take cannister to be switched next time?!

Probably a silly question but too embarrassed to ask in camping shop but know I'm important to get right...

Thanks,

Dby.

After each cooking session I always disconnect the gas ,at home with the BBQ ,or the portable we use with the caravan, firstly for safety , and having lost a full cylinder of gas due to leaking regulator, to save loss of gas, the caravan supply is only connected when pitched otherwise switched off
