Working on something and would like your input

What manufacturers of caravans, motorhomes, tents and trailer tents are no more, gone fallen of their perch.

I can think of Carlight, ABI, Stealth, Voyager, Geist?

There was an awning company in Essex that went, can't remember the name

Any and all please

Think Geist is still very much on the go...they,like Dethleffs, are part of Hymer.

Salou awning of Salisbury. Castleton Caravans of Sherborne. Winchester caravans [possibly from Winchester?]

Blacks did an awning the name escapes me but I have something starting "P" in mind.

Royal caravans

Litchfield Awnings

Dandy caravans

Mirror trailer tent DIY

It is going to be a very long list

I had the pleasure of towing some of the last Geist caravans back from Sassenbourg with my mate Gary of Elite Caravans, so impressed I purchased a Ausi spec 555, ( Now that was a really good looking well made 'van ) " Our Jean " didn't like it so swapped it for the Hymer ( Now that is an ugly looking well made 'van ).

Happy caravanning, indoors.

StarCraft - seemed to be a non-demountable fitted onto a Ford P100 truck. There used to be three or four that used to attend the Holcott Steam Rally in Northamptonshire a few years back. Never encountered any anywhere else so I assume they were the only ones in captivity . . .

Cheers

Welton

Viking - one piece plastic caravans.

Mark I think the company in Essex that made tents and awnings that you were looking for could be Piggott Bros of Stanford Rivers.

Deanline Caravans - we had a one of their Golden Crown models in the 1980's.  No wonder they went under as something was guaranteed to go wrong with it every time we took it out.

Obi awnings.  There was an awning company beginning with "P" in the 1970's but I cant remember the name of it.

We had an Embassy caravan in the 1970's and I'm not certain as to the manufacturer but think it was Ambassador. made by Astral.

A neighbour had a Robin caravan.

Lynton Caravans.

Was it one of the Lynton models that had two  doors - one on either side of the caravan?  I seem to remember these vans from the 1970's.
