symbols by the forum content

OK I may be dim or thick -- even both -- but that is not the question !!!

or even requires an answer ! :sweatdrop:

I was wondering what the differing symbols at the sides of the forum names when you go into the Content

you can have differing things

-- Blue arrow

-- same but greyed out

-- a camp fire

-- same but greyed out

and then a little blue box which says when hovered over

-- go to first unread post

-- No it don't!!!

Is there a little area where we can see what all these differing things are supposed to do.

Otherwise unless we know they are a waste of space...

Thanks for alowing an old dimbo like me to ask a question..

Maurice

As far as I know:

Campfire = hot topic - lots of recent posts on that particular thread.

Blue arrow = regular topic - i.e. not a hot topic.

Greyed out = nothing new on this topic since you last read it.

As for "go to first unread", give it time and it should do what it says on the tin. Sometimes if the Interweb or the server is a bit on the slow side, it can take some time to get there. If you get impatient and click on the scroll bar while the page is loaded, it doesn't bother to take you to the new stuff once the loading has finished. That's a browser feature rather than a forum one.
