Caravan Worktop Sink Drainer And Insert

12 posts in this topic

I have an Adria Altea 542 DT and want to get a shaped worktop draining board and insert to go inside the sink to give a little extra work surface etc.

We went to the NEC yesterday an noticed that a few other make vans had the same sink and some came with worktop draining boards that just sat on the worktop and were the correct shape to fit around the sink. Some also had plastic inserts that went into the sink.

Does anyone have any ideas where these can be purchased from.

We did but a worktop draining from betterwear but it was much too big.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Normally caravan dealers carry spares of this sort, especially for the marque they sell.

There doesnt seem to be any info on the make of the sink as far as I can tell.

I have called the dealer that I got the van from and they are going to see what they can order for it. I called another Adria Dealer also and have been quoted £49.99 plus delivery for a Bowl, Drainer and Chopping Board.

I will let you know what dealer I got the van from comes back with.

I am away for the next week but will let you know as soon as I get back and find out myself.

It does seem daft to remove things for newer models, it may have been to keep the weight down. I beilieve the GRP pannels my be heavier than the older alluminum sides. It does have and extra roof light though.

Alan,

I picked up my van today and they sorted me out with a drainer from a Bailey. As it didn't cost me I didn't push for the bowl and chopping board. It was mainly the drainer I was bothered about. You can but cheap bowls and boards anywhere. I have to say though the chopping board was cream and speckled just like the work tops. The drainer is plastic and is quit flimsey and mine is even warped(in fact all of them were like that). I woudn't have like to pay £50 for the set.

Here are some pics

Looking at the shape and size of the sink against the Bailey drainer I wouldn't be surprised if the basin and chopping board from a Series5 Bailey Senator might not fit as well. See if you can borrow one from a Bailey owner to try it for size!

Sorted warping problem. One night under our mattress it's now flat as a pancake. It does the job!

Thats the sort of thing I am after, I think I will take a trip to the local Bailey dealers to see what they have.

Cheers

I finaly got sorted, I was very supprised on local dealers not being able to get hold of these.

I finally went for the Drainer, Bowl and Chopping board set from Broadlane Leisue. It all fits perfectly, a little expensive but it fits.

    • Club President Julia Bradbury camps overnight on top of The O2 to kick start National Camping and Caravanning Week
      By markf · Posted
In a world first, TV presenter Julia Bradbury spent the night camping on top of London’s O2 Arena as part of a joint celebration of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award’s (DofE) Diamond Anniversary and The Camping and Caravanning Club’s (CCC) annual National Camping and Caravanning Week (NCCW).

Julia completed the 350m walk to reach the top of The O2 at dusk on 24 May, before pitching her tent on a platform 52m above ground level, the equivalent of almost 12 London buses. After waking up to a 360 degree view of London, Julia made her way back down at around 9am and happily placed her feet firmly on the ground again.

As a passionate supporter of both organisations and of the great outdoors, Julia took on this challenge as part of the DofE’s Diamond Challenge, a one-off initiative encouraging people of all ages to do something adventurous and get out of their comfort zones in 2016, the DofE Charity’s Diamond Anniversary year.

Julia is also President of The Camping and Caravanning Club, and this stunt launches National Camping and Caravanning Week, which runs from Monday 30 May to Sunday 5 June 2016.

Speaking ahead of her challenge, Julia said:

“I hope my night camping on the roof of The O2 inspires everyone to get out there and challenge themselves with an outdoor adventure of their own. I'm proud to be supporting two iconic organisations in the outdoor world. Both the DofE and CCC are doing inspiring things to motivate people to get outside. I'm looking forward to being one of very few people to have spent the night on top of The O2!”

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award CEO Peter Westgarth said:

“We’re delighted Julia agreed to support us in our Diamond Anniversary year. Camping overnight in the outdoors can be daunting to some, but to camp on top of a London landmark is certainly a first! Doing a Diamond Challenge this year is the perfect opportunity for everyone to have a go at something new while raising much-needed funds for our charity to help us reach out to even more young people. With seven months left, it’s still not too late to sign up and do your very own Challenge.”

Robert Louden MBE, Director General of The Camping and Caravanning Club, said:

“National Camping and Caravanning Week is the Club’s annual campaign to get the British public engaged with this fabulous means of exploring the great outdoors. What better way to kick start the week and promote the fun and excitement of camping than our Club President Julia Bradbury successfully completing this incredible challenge? We’d love you to join us on our week-long roadshow from 30 May to 5 June to find out more about the joys of camping.”
