Thanks in advance TD

Hi TD,

This is a journey we have made several times on route to Croatia. We normally leave Calais mid morning and stop for the night at Campingplatz Buttelwoog at Dahn near to Pirmasens. Its in a rural setting just off the Rte 10 Pirmasens to Karlsruhe road.

Its not too far off route but is peaceful and has good facilities including a reasonably priced restaurant. There are some pitches on which you can remain hitched to make life easier. The site is listed in the CC europe guide.

The autobahn bypasses Munich pretty much the same as the M25 does to London so you don't need anti pollution stickers . Beware that traffic can be very heavy on this stretch at peak times.

Regards, Blackrat

thanks for your reply Blackrat. as it happens Croatia is our intended destination so any reccommendations on area's or sites would be most helpfull.

We intend using camping cheques & or ACSI card, but I do not think ACSI has any advantage in Croatia

Not an answer for the repair but for winter covers whilst in storage is to use some cling film UNDER the grills they come off easily enough mine have just two sliding catches at the top of each panel

I have just the one charger for my scooter it is "Supposed" to be a smart charger and it does drop to trickle when the batteries are "full" When the batteries are discharged  it delivers 27.4v when the batteries are charged it delivers 27.2v  the voltage on the batteries are when disconnected  there is no perceptible voltage drop when comparing the voltages from the charging plug to the battery terminals  I know that both batteries WILL be different even though they are the same age but the surprise for me is that when not in use or on charge they retain their charge but once under strain they quickly drop yet the charger never shows any more than 25% loss but the controller says they are 80% (the controller goes into limp home mode for 15 minutes then cuts out) So  My thinking is  Batteries may be life expired - - replacement cost £200 Battery Charger may be faulty - -  replacement cost £80 Controller may be faulty too - - replacement cost £150 min   OH my more money needed
