    • Username and other important upgrade information   09/23/2015

Please note that the forum is still upgrading will be for most of the night I think, therefore you may find it slow at times, looking different etc etc. This will straighten out (he hopes) as the upgrade continues. One of the big changes is that usernames and display names will change.   At the moment you can have a username and display name for example you can have a username of joeblogsy and a display name of Joe Blogs.   After the upgrade we will only have usernames.   For some this won't make any difference at all but there are a fair few of you that have different display names., many of which I have changed for people for various reasons.   If, after the upgrade you notice your forum name isn't right please just send me a PM with your desired username.   You may also find you have been logged out, if this happens and you cannot remember your original forum details, please email me at mark@touringandtenting or open a support ticket by

  1. Ok people......I know that the Caravan Club has a new name (Caravan and Motorhome Club) or something like that, but what I want to know is which of these two Clubs offer the best value for money for someone only interested in touring the UK for the time being.  The type of sites that I would be mainly interested in are adults only, quiet and within walking distance of a good olde world pub.  Over the coming years though France and beyond will be on the cards and therefore ferry discounts would come into the equation.
  2. So having sold my Varkala and seeking something that did two things;  a) gives more space and a deeper awning, b) allows the use of an annex to be zipped in
I am looking at 2.  The Kampa Rally Ace 400 and the Vango Kalari 420.  I really like the Kalari quality and was very happy with my previous Vango.  The rally ace 400 has had some good reports over on the CC forum so I am comparing.  Anyone done the same or own either and can offer up any words of wisdom !
  3. Need volume and I must get one of those hats
  4. Last year we did not get out with the caravan due to circumstances beyond my control.
Because of this Mary doesn't want me to be driving down to the South of France with the caravan straight away.
She says I should get back and do some UK trips first, which I suppose is a good idea.
Has any one any ideas for a Midlands local rally in the Spring  -- up to the start of June.
I would dearly like to get away on a LMU or a T&T meet, but at the moment I am not up to organising.
So has any one any ideas for a get together.
