I usuall ask where they got a classified defence number from, inform them they have dialled a VOIP number so there location is known and the televant authorities notified - at which point they hang up rapidly. :-) Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

  5. ArtistsRifles added a post in a topic World’s first electric campervan conversion

Thoughts from the top of the head - and bear in mind that Ford used to use the Th!Nk ev's as pool cars back around 2000. 1 - 40% lower service costs now but what about when the batteries need replacing? The 30 minute fast charge shortens battery life so that will come sooner than you might think/like think if used as described. 2 - 7000 charging points across the whole UK is not a lot! Service areas I've been to recently have 2, maybe 4 of these. If ev's get that popular you will also have a queue for them so a 30 minute fast charge could well be a 2 hour+ time.. 3 - a 100 mile range is useless out side of a city That is the optimum range based on the flat with minimal payload. As soon as you hit hills that range will drop drastically. That all said - if tbe caravanning clubs include the ability to charge the vehicle as well as provide the usual 240v supply such a vehicle would work very well as a camper provided routes were carefully planned to take account of range limitations. 7. ArtistsRifles added a post in a topic Oh bother

We get the odd flat battery every now and then for no apparent reason - I bought a 12v/24v jump start pack from machine mart and keep it in the boot. Thats enough to get a vehicle started so the alternator takes over. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

  10. ArtistsRifles added a post in a topic Dartford crossing works start Oct to remove toll booths but

Wonder how many people will start getting payment demands from the toll companies because their reg plates on similar vehicles have gone through the ANPR system there???
Come to think of it - if I leave the historical show plates on my Landie - will the MoD get billed every time it goes through??? Now there is a happy thought!!

  12. ArtistsRifles added a post in a topic Phone in France - Europe?

To do this will they not need to get the phones "unlocked" from their current supplier?? I have an old Nokia that I use as a back up device - used to be my Vodafone unit and to use another SIM in it I had to contact Vodafone and get the unlock code from them. Not something they were overly happy about doing.....

Errr - because it;s Microsoft?? That usually answers a lot of the "web site won't work in IE" questions.

  14. ArtistsRifles added a post in a topic WhatsApp - How do you feel about this increased connection

As regards things like Whatsapp - agreed. Social media is becoming too invasive for my liking these days. Don't mind things changing if they tell you first but it really bugs me when you only find out after they change it!!
