InterestsAfter 20 years of teaching "L" drivers recently embarked on a career change. Now working in "Estate Agency Support Services", which is a posh way of saying "I spend my day driving from property to property erecting "For Sale" boards on behalf of Estate Agents........NOW RETIRED!!
Spare time (used to be a scarce commodity, now a whole lot more!) spent gardening, stamp collecting (the stamps of the beautiful Fiji Islands) and caravan holidays (didn't get enough, got plenty now!) which I combine with some volunteer work on the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway. Web Master for my local philatelic society.
Got one recently from Aldi....around 40 quid & runs on 12v (in car) or mains. Used last weekend....kept the "important" stuff in perfect nick. As the 12v sockets in my car only operate when the engine's running there ain't no problem regarding a flat battery.
I'm in the "buy used, relatively low mileage" camp too. No point in buying brand new....you drop a fortune as soon as you drive off the forecourt & you don't have the (potential) brand new car problems. I have remote monitoring on my gas boiler so it comes as no surprise car manufacturers are using it too.
YIPPEE!!!! ...back on ther road again. After 10 weeks car's finally repaired (parts delays & god knows what else) and there's a new (to me) caravan getting its first outing next weekend. Only problem now is ......I need to read the manual ...oh well.
Cheers Gary, I've have found, right down to make, model & layout, of what I want......it's a private sale too, so the price is (very) reasonable (looks like someone's giving up 'cos there's loads of extras included) but I can't do anything until (a) 'van insurers come back to me on a settlement & (b) I get my "wheels" back on the road.
