Rothenburg is considered one of the gems of the Romantic Road. It depends on how much of the road you want to do as its about 250 miles from Wurzburg to Fussen? There are plenty of Stellplatz and campsites along the route. There is a nice schloss at Weikersheim which also has nice gardens. The options are endless. WE like Germany and have travelled widely around the country over the years although not yet been to Wuppertal! David

OK folks SWMBO has decreed that we are going to travel the Romantic Road next year .   We are crossing to the Hook of Holland  Detouring to Amsterdam and Wuppertal (I got that concession ) and Frankfurt (she doesn't know how close the trains are there either)   But can anyone recommend any places that are a must to visit on the Road - the usual castles, zoos, museums, breweries/Wineries, I mean I managed to get Wuppertal because of the Monorail system  So where else can we go there are two of us in our 8m motorhome and we have a friend in her 7m motorhome so will be driving together

A bit of feedback.  The place was located in the countryside so lovely and quiet however shops were about a mile away.  Lovely big bedroom and a large bathroom with shower.  Had the lounge to ourselves with TV that had Sky available.  Next morning a massive breakfast was laid on for us.  Sadly I do not like a big breakfast prior to driving a long distance plus we needed to get away before 8am as the traffic around Bournemouth/Christchurch.Southampton can be horrendous.  We thought it was good value for just the one night and cheaper that staying in some sleazeball hotel.  LOL!
