Well we thought we did but apparently we don't........

We have a small job that requires a repair and the chap we used said it would be covered by the warranty.

On checking with Adria he was told our van has not been registered by the dealer when we purchased it and none of the 3 services we have had done have been logged either.

I've written to the dealer asking for their take on this and await a reply. This only came to light due to the crap service work we had done in the summer.

So it might be worth others checking to see if their warranty is properly registered.

Not happy!

Get ready to fight Ian.

I owned an Adria once, it was a beautiful van but the supplying dealer was a bandit.

Sale of goods act basically means your redress is with the retailer not the manufacturer so in the circumstances I would initially pursue that avenue. As to why the sale wasn't registered with the manufacturer well tha'ts an interesting one. I wish most people would ready theri warranty information. in most cases you must have an annual approved service within a six week time frame of its purhcase.

I've had 3 expensive services just for the stamp in the book - its very apparent they do very little other than that.

All the services have been on time - I'm now waiting to hear back from them. If failing to register the van was an oversight it should have been picked up when they completed the first service and logged it with Adria - the fact that it wasn't suggests (to me) that they don't routinely process service paperwork properly either.

Adria have a clause that you have to use and approved (adria) dealer to keep the warranty in tact. Its not worried us to be honest as the extra cost of a dealer service still won't bring the cost of the van upto that of a uk van of similar spec.

Ian whats gone wrong if you don't mind me asking. And i hope you get the issue sorted soon.

The fault is really minor - something and nothing.

My issue isn't this fault its the fact that I have no warranty on the van and no service record of damp checks. I have given the dealer a week to get back to me, and he will get another registered letter from me on Tuesday.

Really poor service - caravan dealers are still light years behind car dealers for stuff like this.

I may bite the bullet and drive up there in person - would like it to be when the showroom is full though to ensure I get his full attention.

The alternative is to make a claim through the County Court for loss of value - having no damp warranty on a 3 year old van must be worth £1500 to me at least.

Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2

Were quite lucky to be fairly close to a few adria dealers. Even tho our van came from a dealer a good distance away because of a hard to beat or resist deal.
A couple of 'mechanics' i have spoken to at different dealers have said they had yet to see damp in a thermobuild van. Even the older vans apparently don't suffer from ingress as much as uk vans.
I understand your concern and rightly so, lets hope the mechanics were not full of silicone like some salesmen can be and had genuine advice.

We use our '10dk model almost every weekend + usual holidays, so far the only issues we have had are a failed led in the rear cabin light, and the shower hose won't work if used in the shower position because the hose has a kink in it. (our fault as we never use it extended i guess, but works fine in the tap position)

Hope you get sorted out with the dealer.

Well 6 weeks on and despite the dealer saying (in writing) that they had updated the details of services etc with Adria it turns out tonight that they have not and I'm still without a service record with Adria uk.

It turns that that they are no longer Adria (or for that matter Coachman) dealers - although they couldn't be bothered to tell me that either.

So if you are in the market for an Adria van and are looking in south lincolnshire you'll have to look further afield. And that (based on my experience) is a definite result.

Sales experience brilliant, after sales experience shite.

Adria very strict on only allowing service by their dealer only. Long thread on this elsewhere.
