New Tourer - TripBuddy
Posted 04 October 2012 - 08:10 AM
Tripbuddy™marks the next generation of towed leisure vehicles and sports ergonomics and aerodynamics developed by expert automotive and aerospace engineers and software.
Tripbuddy Ltd founder, engineer and entrepreneur, Bill Davis, developed the concept as the perfect camping companion for his own outdoor adventure holidays and has already seen significant interest from outdoor surfers, cyclists, jet-skiers and car rallying teams.
“Tripbuddy™ signifies a whole new and exciting era in the towed leisure vehicle sector,” said Bill Davis. “The caravan will never be the same again.”
With its monocoque body shell, Tripbuddy™ is manufactured using the latest in composite moulding techniques and is designed as a fully integrated system - with a custom-made, state of the art sound and video system with MP3 and Smartphone features.
The interior boasts full leather trim with a genuine teak floor more reminiscent of a super-yacht than a caravan, whilst the bespoke ‘infotainment’ system provides all the multi-media options one could possibly desire. All internal lighting is LED and a rainbow of mood inspiring colours is available at the touch of a remote control button.
The Tripbuddy™ also includes a collapsible toilet and shower system and can accommodate holidaying must-haves, such as motorbikes or jet skis with its in-built tie downs for securing loads of up to 500kg. The internal space has been ergonomically refined to provide maximum practical usability and efficiency in a compact living space for both able and less able bodies users.
Access to Tripbuddy™ is highly innovative - via a rear clam-shell style door system which opens up to allow access for wheelchair users. The door, once opened, forms the rigid roof of the inbuilt awning, which virtually doubles the usable internal space and features a series of extra rooms.
Tripbuddy™ employs automotive standard engineering design and components placing quality, reliability, safety and utility at the core of the product. In addition, the Tripbuddy™ design team has worked with all the recognised standard authorities across the world to ensure that the product meets all caravan and road safety standards.
“We are expecting Tripbuddy™ to have global reach,” Bill Davis said. “And we are already in discussions with agents in various key countries across the globe.”
Tripbuddy™ is just one of many exciting and innovative new products at this year’s Motorhome & Caravan Show 2012. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than before occupying eleven halls (over 80,000sq m) of the National Exhibition Centre and uniting more than 400 exhibitors, including campsites, destinations, attractions, leisure suppliers and service providers.
Visitors can view and compare all the new layouts and innovations, pick the model that best suits their requirements and budget, place an order for delivery in time for the start of the 2013 holiday season and take advantage of some special show-only offers in the process!
Industry experts will be on hand to offer free information and advice on a wide range of subjects, from technical issues, security, insurance and finance to how-to-tow safely both in the UK and abroad. There will also be the chance to polish skills and pick up tips with free towing and motorhome manoeuvring lessons.
Discover new campsites and parks and book your holidays at the Show or explore the possibility of turning your fly-drive holiday dream into a reality by talking to experts about trips to far flung destinations such as the USA, Australia and New Zealand.
Both adults and seniors (60+ years) could save £2 when booking tickets in advance of the show. Senior advance tickets are priced at £7 (£9 on-the-door) and adults advance tickets are priced at £8 (£10 on-the-door) when booked before the 15th October. Think I'd describe it more as a multi purpose covered trailer than as a tourer.
Always happy to meet, sorry to part and happy to meet again!

The niche in question presumably involves having more money than sense. I think they're going to have to rely heavily on the 'multi-purpose' and 'disabled access' angles.
