Hi all,
Could I propose a seperate forum column for general gripes that have nothing to do with T & T, I do not need to be informed of the dross thats printed in the Telegraph,Daily Mail or any other supposed news sheet when looking down the General column. I know through experience through this and a n other forum, most of the subjects discussed will only end in tears. As I stated in one of the other topics,we can discuss and argue our points 'til the cows come home, it won't change a thing.

One reason I've stopped posting on most forums is the......... bugger I've just posted.

I totally agree with Indoors..........no good ever comes of them and the individuals views wont change.

We occasionally seem to attract bigoted or racist threads / posts. I hope anyone reading these does not conclude that ALL caravanner's hold these views. Personally I would delete them as I cant see what they can do to further T&T, however, that's not my decision.

You've just posted in the General any topics column that's enough for most people surely.

One of the American car forums I use has a section marked "Rants" specifically for moaning posts or those likely to descend into an argument!  To prevent newbie **** stirrers you only get access to it after you have 100 posts under your belt.  There's also an adult section with similar restrictions but of course I never venture in there, honest.......

A great idea guys - unfortunately you're too late as the place you're requesting was one of the first to be implemented on T&T !

It's called ...

General

Hi all,
Sorry about not noticing GENERAL meant any topic !! As Gary and already others have noted it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a " Any other subject column " with a warning on the door.

I'd have thought that the sub heading "Any topic" under General was pretty clear without needing any additional warning but then again that's just my opinion ...

I think what Indoors is trying to say is that we should have a RACISTS & BIGOTS section.

Hi Alan, in your description panel it says under Expertise, talking rubbish, quite honestly i think your last post in this thread kinda lived up to that.

Sorry if that offends but i really don't think those comments were called for.

We always need to change and I can see what you are saying, give me some suggestions on how you would like it set up. Name of forum, can anyone view, can it be viewed on new content etc etc etc

To be honest all that's needed is to make the General forum only visible to members in the same way that Funny and Amazing is, an additional forum would be overkill.  The titles of the offending threads are usually obvious and making another forum for contentious topics wouldn't prevent somebody going off topic elsewhere (like in General where most of the rows are ...)
