Going to Spain for 28 days in January.
Can any one recommend a good site I would like a site that does not look like a Car Park.
I have seen spanish sites before and was not impressed with alot of them.
I would like a site with as much room as a CC Site.

Most big 5 star sites the pitches are a lot better than CC most have water and drains OK they will not have Grass but an awning carpet will sort out out the sand
Take a look at websites for ideas
Camping Cheques
ACSI

www.archiescampings.eu
are some although Archie's is for POI's for SatNavs but it will give you 99% of campsites in Europe
So far we have been to Sites around Barcelona and Girona
La Masia in Blanes pitches are huge
Interpals near Pals pitches are variable but most are bigger
Castel Montgri in Spain has nice flat pitches for caravans and most are terraced
and in 12 days time we are off to Benidorm
and will be stopping-over around Valencia
so can report back from there later

have a look at Caravaning La Manga, on the mar menor, near Cartagena well south of Valencia.Very popular with folk from northern europe, pitches have water, drainage and 10 amps large well stocked supermarket,. Restaurant on the beach, we are going for the last 2 weeks in September, after the schools re start.
The site takes camping cheques and ACSI cards.

Hi
Tom
Have been looking at La Manga only thing worrying me is the size of the site and the pitches look so close together on top of each other.
Please let me know our you find it when you get back

just returned from La Manga, and this time it was disappointing, I've been before at around about this same time of year, BUT this time I left home on Saturday & only went 1/2 kilometer from the house and the air suspension had a puncture and collapsed. I had to wait until Monday for it to be fixed. Anyway between the campsite and the restaurant/beach is a narrow dirt walkway that allows you to walk along the shores of the Mar menor. This year, twice a day morning and evening a very large herd of goats used the walkway and parts of the beach to get from one end to the other, Talk about S* ^T machines, it was not pleasant and the smell stayed for most of the day until they returned in the evening. I was taking the dog for a walk, through the mine field when two elderly ladies on bicycles rode bye and one said to the other " you can still smell the goat s<*^t " and she we'rnt wronge, The pitch I was on was 100 metre square and surrounded on 3 sides by a hedge, Mine backed onto plot occupied by a large American 5th wheeler, there are a lot there, and I could hear his angle grinder, and every conversation they had. But I did enjoy myself, just the goats whern't nice
While I was walking around I noticed the Camping & Caravan club had a meeting there, maybe you could get some info from them as the do a lot of long stay rallies in Spain and Portugal
Sorry didn't mean to sound negative
where ever it is you end up I hope you enjoy it

Phil.
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright, until you hear them speak.
