We're over here in the UK at the moment staying at Barnstones Caravan Park,Nr Banbury. It's one of our favourite sites as everything is so handy. Anyways, I got a call from Gary at Elite Caravans,Bisworth,Nr Northampton,http://www.elitecaravans.co.uk/ he's just done a deal with Hymer owned LMC/TEC caravans at Sassenbourg and bringing in some superb LMC tourers ( pictures to follow ). I have owned 5 TEC and a Geist, they are both manufactured in the same factory, and now own a Hymer Nova SL all from Elite Caravans, If I was in the market for a new 'van I certainly would consider one of these new 2012 LMC's ( take a look at the LMC site )http://www.lmc-carav...avan/baureihen/ Superbly made and finished, some even come with fibre roofs to prevent hail damage. I've been to the factory on numerous occasions as chairman of the TEC Owners Club and seen first hand just how caravans should be made ( no tracky's or plimsoles in this factory ).
The standard of workmanship is far beyond ( IMO ) what is taken as acceptable in this country, I took the leap in 2001 and dearly would like to show off a new Brit' built 'van but my head and my pocket won't allow me. By the way, " doors on the wrong side ",no bother to me,if the site owner wishes you to park nose in thats not a problem as most German 'vans have the lounge in the back,it makes sense, thats where the full headroom is !!! As allways they come with full manufacturers waranty,
Get in there Guys n' Gals, because as with the TEC and Geist offers from Gary they won't be there long. Enjoy your caravanning.indoors.

I missed out on Gary's Geists - the Aussie ones were too heavy for the towcar I had at the time.

Who needs a huge end bathroom - particularly if you've paid more and gone to a site with toilets and showers?

We try to find sites without toilets and showers although it is becoming increasingly difficult. You need a decent bathroom if you are on a CL. There aren't many sites on the continent without facilities that is why they have rubbish bathrooms.

I'm sure not "only brits" use them thus, but perhaps "only grouchy older people" who no longer travel with kids would be negative about other peoples needs in a caravan.

End Bathroom with seperate shower secound best bit of my van, fixed double bed 1st. I use site showers mainly but when I want to use Van shower No messy curtain to contend with, it makes our Van a home from home.
I have no problem with build quality of British built vans. German best I think not.

Big seperate shower, seperate changing area, models, price,? take a look on Elites site !! I've seen what is allready here and on offer, there are end bathrooms with seperate shower cubicles, there are fixed bunk out of the way family 'vans, there are 'vans with under floor heating, there 'vans with fibre reinforced roofs to prevent hail damage,. As stated earlier, the Ausie spec' Geist I had was without doubt the best allround 'van I've ever seen.SWMBO could not take to it so it had to go,though I'm quite happy with her choice of the Hymer.
