Hi

Just wanted to know what people spend going abroad to compare against my figures.

I did not want someone advertising their Camp site.

I did try to answer your original question as I am one of those sad peopel that keep a track of what a holidays costsPosted Image

I suppose the one thing I have learnt from the posts going somewhat off topic is that I don't want to go to the campsite in question. Out of high season its too expensive anyway, there is a lovely campsite just down the road for €15 a night and another Municipal probably even cheaper,  but I am sure some will enjoy BJ's type of site.

Now! now! David.  I don't recall mentioning what type of site I prefer but for the record those where  there is a distinct lack of "brits" have a certain appeal which seems to rule out the site being mentioned above despite the assurance of impeccable customers in a unique location.  Bit OTT for me   but I was willing to pop in and form a judgement based on BL's posts here and elsewhere under other names but the opportunity has been removed by the T&Cs imposed (we have no rules.....except - reservation required by e-mail -  minimum the length of stay - €50 deposit -  tyre inspections).

Mind you I do like the idea of corralled dogs  Posted Image

I was watching this thread with interest, now it has been hijacked into a bunfight between forum users with previous history .

I want to read content of interest and bickering certainly does not interest me. The same as adverts , you can chose to ignore them

That's the way with forums!

But, as you say,  what doesn't interest you can be ignored!    Posted Image

We've just had three and a half weeks in the South of France, fuel was around 133 -140 euros a litre. There is a really good website that shows municipal campsites that are generally well priced and some are very nice. Our trip is 2000 miles plus and I would think a family holiday for over three weeks wouldn't cost more than £1200.

We are in the Pyrenees at the moment -- near the Spanish boarder diesel fuel is €1.40 per litre and over the boarder in Spain it is €1.29 the rate of exchange is €1.275 to the £.

The temperature is 37 degrees and it rained last night leaving a covering of red sand from the Sahara . It was still hot in the night even though ir was raining about 28 degrees
