As I run a small business I need to have email and internet access while I am away.  I am booked to go away soon from a Tuesday to Sunday and have been quoted £85,00 for this,  Seems high to me.  Any comments.  I do have a 'dongle' but it can be slow at times and reception with o2 also can be patchy.

We love our mifi in England, originally cost about £50 and came charged with wifi, then we can top up whenever we like. Its 3 network, you can buy it from any of the 3 mobile shops

we can both use it at the same time and its really fast, has not let us down yet, we are peeved that we cant use it abroad,

You can buy a monthly contract for it, but we just use it as we go, as sometimes we are away weekends on the trot and then have a break. Would thoroughly recommend

Here's one link for it

Get a PAYG 3 dongle, the 3 network is best for mobile broadband - but like all the networks doesn't cover rural areas well - there's a coverage map checker on their website.

I recently bought their Huawei E353 high speed dongle and a 3 month 3GB sim card from Amazon for under £30 - extra 3mth/3Gb sim cards are about £12 - this is to replace an older Huawei standard speed dongle but haven't actually tried it out yet.

Similar to above, but on t-mobile, Huawei unit, not sure of the model, £15 a month, four times faster than I was getting via the copper wires

£10 per month on my pay as you go phone with giffgaff (o2 network) and i get unlimted internet. Added to that my phone (Sony Xperia mini) has a built in wireless router, i can turn the router on and connect laptop or phones etc etc wirelessly.

Works for me.

I use a 3 MiFi with a 12month/12Gb which ever comes sooner SIM chip. MiFi & Chip originally cost £130. Just got a new chip - £70.50. Managed to get 8 months out of the old one. Streaming the Jubliee River event on the iPad did the damage!

Cheers
