That's not an ethic, that's self-destruction.

Bitterness just takes you down - working your way out of poverty, however defined, is the only way - and that's what should be focussed on.

I don't try to change what others do - I try to change what I do, for my own benefit. Over my 65 years I've had more S**T than many others but I boast about what I've achived, not the difficulties I endured.

Heaven is where the police are British, the cooks Italian, the mechanics German, the lovers French, and it is all organised by the Swiss.
Hell is where the police are German, the cooks British, the mechanics French, the lovers Swiss, and it is all organised by the Italians.

OK...fair point. But you can understand why i questioned you as you responded to a working class ethic rather than a bitterness.

Anyway....i do think it's good to highlight achievements....thats great....but the difficulties in my family past i mentioned were only in repost to the difficulties you mentioned in yours!!!!

There's no law against you working Maurice.
Went to the Labour Exchange and asked if they had any jobs for a 74 year old man who has had a replacement heart and two new hips...

Go self employed. Remember, your hear and hips are younger than my heart and hips! :)
