Picked this up on another forum...

I used to be a commercial freight driver doing all Europe , we went over on the Bilbao boat a couple of weeks ago and I got talking to an old friend that drives for a company called Davis Turner ,my friend does 32 trips to Morocco a year, he asked me where I was going to which I replied Malaga,he then showed me the route they take from Bilbao to Algerciras. They go Bilbao,Burgos ,Valladolid Salamanca,Caceres,Seville,Algerciras, They can do the whole trip in a legal shift taking 1 and 1/2 hours legal breaks during the journey, there is only one toll and thats from Bilbao to Burgos. My friend is retiring next year when he reaches 80 !!!, I followed his route but turned off at Seville and found it a far better route than going via Madrid

OP was Kerbut!
We've done St Malo to Hendaye (French/Spanish border) via Rennes, Nantes, Bordeaux.
Perhaps you could cobble summat together from that???

Hi, the route Bilbao,Burgos ,Valladolid Salamanca,Caceres,Seville,Algerciras, is dual carriage all the way, I done northern Spain to where I live near Cadiz in 2 easy day drives and there are plenty of service stations and venta/bars/restuarants with large parking spaces for car and caravans on the route down. Seville can be a bit challenging so if you have a sat nav, you might like to use it there. The bit between Seville and where you will turn off for Algerciras, at Jerez, is a pay road but shoud only cost about 6 euros, Between Seville and Algerciras there are only 2 service stations. 1 is the Seville/Jerez section and the other is the Jerez/Algerciras section.
Is the Morrocon trip geared for caravans, I've never given it much thought , hopping on the ferry with the van, maybe you could let us all know of your experience from the trip, whatever I hope you enjoy it.
