OK it's a question

Has anyone been to Benidorm with a caravan ?
And what do you think is the best site there?
Looking at ACSI or Camping Cheques (Gold Card for years)  next year

Stephanie has managed to get the whole of September off so we are off all being well for 4 weeks

We are plotting to go

stop-over Little Switzerland Folkestone

stop-over in the Centre Region

Via Millau Bridge

maybe a stop-over at Ma Prairie –Canet de Roussillon

a site near Benidorm got a list but not publishing it yet to see who else comes up with the same names

Twin Lakes  - Soumeras Pitou Charente on the way back of course

stop-over near Pas de Calais

Over to you guys

Regards

Graham & Stephanie

Camping El Raco  gets my vote we were there in March this year and has good facility's excellent on site bar and restaurant , most pitches fully serviced including plug in free British TV  , good on site shop selling most if not everything you may require ,  across from the main entrance is a Caravan Spares shop and the bus stop is adjacent .
Town center is within easy walk from site or just catch the bus if you dont fancy the 15 minute walk .
About 10 minutes drive from site at Finestrat  is a  UK  Iceland supermarket selling all the British products you cant buy locally like British sliced bread ,  fresh British Cravondale milk , Pork Pies Posted ImagePosted Image and just about every other food product you may want   there is also a huge Carrefour , Aldi and Lidl ajacent to Iceland .
There are numerous other caravan sites close by but which I cant comment on however we did also use Camping Almafra near  L' Alfas del Pi  which is 3-4 miles from Benidorm town center but would not be my choice again although its Ok

Well been looking even harder and we ended up with
Camping Raco (they've dropped the EL)
Camping La Toretta
and Camping Armanello

From the responses we have got back we have just reserved a pitch at Camping La Toretta for 15 nights

Ta for the response Neil not really bothered about the Benidorm everyone sees on the TV I'm after the Spanish side

If you are after the Spanish side just remember that they work late and when your not in a tourist area you wont get an evening meal before 8pm

If you want to try something different in Benidorm try the Coral Del Pollo or the Chicken ranch in english. They do spit roasted chickens over a charcoal spit roast. The spit roasts are floor to ceiling. They also have wifi. Its in Calle Lepanto.
Visited some friends who where staying at El Raco a few years ago. It seemed a nice camp site.

The Old part of the Town is worth visiting for the Tapa's bars where you can eat for €1 plus a small glass of beerPosted Image

Ta for the suggestion of the Coral de Pollo

For any one else thinking of going check out https://www.excursio...-y-ofertas.html   you can get discount on pre orders and they do a small amount of print off discount vouchers too

Oh yes La Torreta is next to the Benidorm Palace of all places

If you need a decent cup of tea and free wifi, then the Tropical bar about two to three hundred metres further down the road towards the sea is very good. The pot of tea was a Euro, it does about 2 and a bit cups.
Its approximately opposite the Hotel  Levante Club and Spa.
We where staying in the Hotel Deloix just further up the road celebrating my birthday a while back.

La toretta is OFF  Been doing some checking and after finding that it has almost no security and lots of gaps in wall and fences not to mention the road running through it next to the Palace we changed to one that seems to be full continuously all year round just a little further up the road

So we are off to El Raco and have been told they are almost fully booked for the time we are there
