This happenrd on Saturday morning, luckily there was nobody in the tent, they were out for the day.

The entire thing only took 10 minutes maximum.

It is believed that it was a portable gas fridge. There was also a stove with a 5 or 7 kgs bottle and selection of small gas cannisters that were fired at least 40 feet into the air, landing in different places around the site - very scarey.

We had lent a tent to sime friends which was close to the fire, a gas cannister landed about a foot away from it

Our friends don't want to go camping again

thats a heck alot of gas if ti took 10 minutes
least nobody was hurt,

They are very lucky not to have been hurt...but it seems that someone was a bit negligent doesn't it...Gas in any form
has to be respected...whether in a Tent or Caravan...so sounds like there was either a leak..or something was left lit.!

Scary I reckon..
