Which site are you going to work on?

           Jim
Sorry Jim no offence but I would prefer not to name the site at the moment, perhaps in the future but I will say that it is part of a fairly large Holiday park and there are just over 100 pitches for caravans and tents and it is in a far flung corner of Cornwall.

cheers

Hi...my partner and i have been wardens for the past 3 years....different site each season.

Its hard work, but enjoyable,id recommend it to anyone...
At the mo we are working in Wales, but next year...who knows ??

We get the chance to see new areas, and meet loads of nice people...(well most of them)

We get a free pitch/electric/wifi and free laundry facilities....and happy with that...

Anyone want any info,please ask.

I would say, if you want to be a  warden, go for it, we have been wardens on four caravan site now and three out of four were very good, the last one, well, what a shower. New managers who are clueless and two faced, and made it pretty clear from the start of our employment that we were not welcome there, as did the other Warden couple. We think a lot of the problem was that as we had worked on other sites, and that we had more experience than them. So if you want to be wardens, unless your a yes man, that likes to suck up to upper Managment,  Stay well clear of this place. I don't know if I can name it on here, If I can, I will!!!!    But yes, in general, being a Wardens is a really good job.

Probably Butlins or a Haven site as OP is too embarrassed to name the site.  LOL!
Sometimes I pretend to be normal, but it gets boring so I go back to being me.

We visit a British run French site that has four family members [adult] who are the "bosses" but they employ -- if that is the term -- four couples with their own caravan or motorhome - to work on the site -- cleaning toilets - waiting at tables - serving drinks etc etc. [max 10.30pm]

For this they are not paid -- and only work for 4 days a week -three full days off -  on a rota - and the days on duty they eat free. They don't pay any pitch fees etc.

I don't know if this is a good deal or not.

What do others think.

I have only just seen this thread.

With regards to the post by Maurice I believe from my understanding of French law that this kind of employment is illegal in France.

This country is so wrapped up in employment law technicalities that a person isn't even supposed to go and cut a neighbours grass on a voluntary basis!  Now how mad is that ?.
My whole life is all about making certain special people have special holidays with us !

As a matter of fact it was a Parkdean site but that was last year, we are now employed by the Caravan Club and have just done a season on a site in the North west. next year we are on a site in Devon and very much looking forward to it.
