We are considering (as one of a few options) Ireland next year.

I need a ferry price to see if it's a viable option.

We would use the Fishguard or Pembroke based routes (or Swansea - Cork if the "bring it back" campaign works!      http://www.bringbacktheswanseacorkferry.com/   )

I've tried loads of webites but can't seem to find any quoting July 2009? (Perhaps it's a bit early?)

Can anyone point me in the direction of one that is currently quoting 2009 prices please?

Or even give me an accurate "guess-timate" for the following:

2 adults, 3 kids (9,5,4). Car and caravan (7.89m long x 2.53m high). Sail Sat 25 July 2009 back Wed 5 August 2009.

Also, any Clubcard deals!

TIA

Kev

Use your Tesco Club card vouchers on Irish Ferries but not sure if you can use them in July and August . We never pay to go to Ireland. We are going next year again (5th time) but are expecting it to be very expensive due to the drop of the Pound against the Euro.

Hi Kev

Just to confirm that the campaign to restore the Swansea - Cork ferry has been successful -
online booking are now open for 2010 at www.fastnetline.com

This route saves hundreds of miles of driving - both in South Wales and over this side of the water -
got to be the only way to travel to the beautiful South-West of Ireland (but then - I'm probably biased!)

Have always thought about doing this but

Car + van + 2 adults, 1 week in May ........£528 rtn...JUST for the ferry  :fear:

Or stay in England and get just as wet for nothing ?
Or go to France for TWO weeks ALL IN ?

NO brainer really......to me anyway

PS my son lives over there & I always fly just because of the cost of putting ANY vehicle on ANY irish sea crossing

Don't cry because it's over; smile because it happened.

That's great news Adrian. I was aware as I signed the petition and get your newsletter.

However, we wanted to go last year :(

This year - Holland.

Hopefully see you next year - well done again.

I'm collecting a caravan from Ireland in May. Therefore the Van is only going one way (return leg)
The prices are about £375 - 475 for the return trip, including seating in the Clubclass lounge at £32 each way for the wife & I.

The caravan on it's own typically costs about £125 each way on top of the ferry price for the car & passengers.

Tesco Tokens rock. I've been to Ireland every year with the car for the past several years, as my parents live there. This year is the first time I've had to make a significant contribution to Tokens I've collected.
They're valid on both the Irish ferries and Stena line routes, though cant be used for already discounted ticket prices.
Irish ferries lets you use them Online for booking. (but are working out a bit more expensive this year - about £50)

Are you buying the caravan in Ireland? make sure about it's providence.

A lot of stolen caravans from the UK end up in Ireland, specifically to have their identifications changed, and are then sold back into the UK!!!

Don't worry Millstone, The caravan currently belongs to my parents, and they have had it since new. It's definitely not "Hot"
It's a Sterckeman. There's only 1 UK dealer of these so they're pretty rare over here.
Its spent most of it's life being treated as a static, as it was kept and used at my parents favourite site. they only towed it a handfull of times. It won't be so lucky under my stewardship. _ I hope to take it toe every beauty-spot on the Island of GB.
