I'm doing the same journey and wouldn't touch Paris with a barge pole (even if he were a plumber).

Yep thats the way I would go
No need to go any where near Paris at all .. even if you wanted to.. wrong direction... no.gif

This is the best way - done it for years.
Calais >>A28 >> Rouen
A13>> N154 >> Chartres
A10 >> Orleans
A71 >> Vierzon (some might say come off at Limoges and go down then N21 but that is a horrible towing road --)
better to keep on the Auto route
A20 to>> Briev-la-Grand
A89 >> Perigueux -- and you are more or less there..

530 miles or so
850 Km

Maurice

If you wanted an over night there is a nice place just outside Chateroux - just off the A20 at J15~~ at about 350 miles - but that might be too far..?
Les grand pins

there is also a very nice - overnight place at Vierzon -- a wonderful municipal site..310 miles..

After getting extremely lost on the periphique a few years ago (before Satnav) I would always avoid Paris if possible.

this is the file to put on your Tom-Tom -- if you have Europe maps.. put them in the map folder and it will create a new set of Poi's for the CC campsites --

There are two files -- one *.ov2 and the other a pic file..

don't for get the picture file as well..(small caravan)

We stayed at the municipal site at Brionne a couple of years ago when we wanted a stop just after Rouen. It was a nice enough little place with a Champion very close by and the site was just a short walk from the town. http://www.campingfr...c...g=uk&ch=geo

We LOVE Paris.. and can never see the problems that people go on about -- we have been going to Paris for the past 20 or more years.. could NOT do France without or "top up" of Paris... it is so easy.. We will be there for a week in July !!

Although I was posted there for a year.. and that made it easier..
