No need to go any where near Paris at all .. even if you wanted to.. wrong direction...
This is the best way - done it for years.
Calais >>A28 >> Rouen
A13>> N154 >> Chartres
A10 >> Orleans
A71 >> Vierzon (some might say come off at Limoges and go down then N21 but that is a horrible towing road --)
better to keep on the Auto route
A20 to>> Briev-la-Grand
A89 >> Perigueux -- and you are more or less there..
530 miles or so
850 Km
Maurice
If you wanted an over night there is a nice place just outside Chateroux - just off the A20 at J15~~ at about 350 miles - but that might be too far..?
Les grand pins
there is also a very nice - overnight place at Vierzon -- a wonderful municipal site..310 miles..

We LOVE Paris.. and can never see the problems that people go on about -- we have been going to Paris for the past 20 or more years.. could NOT do France without or "top up" of Paris... it is so easy.. We will be there for a week in July !!
Although I was posted there for a year.. and that made it easier..
