The Camping Cheques POI puts it at  N 50.73905 W 2.66926
Which is the wrong side of Bridport and miles away from Charmouth


The Campsites own map puts it near to N 50.73890 W 2.88940

Will confirm this in a weeks time - when we've been

On my TomTom it shows Newlands to the North East of Bridport and the co-ords were downloads from Archies site

Maybe you need to buy a new navigationsystem or learn how to use it.
The position of these campingsite, as Parafke said before, is exactly correct and it is simular with the position in my poi's, I just checked it again!
All your remarks on the positions till now doesn't make any sence, I really don't understand what's the meaning of all your messages about this.
Nevertheless I wish you a nice holiday and a lot of pleasure using our data!

Let me elucidate
I do know how to use TomTom Nav 6  which is why I brought this to your notice

I downloaded the POI  OV2 file from the site (Yours)
I loaded it in the Pocket PC file where it should go (the European map file)

the position of  Newlands holiday site was placed on the map to the North East of BRIDPORT

Then I cross checked as it's postal address is CHARMOUTH

the position was incorrect as the POI showed it from the download I got


I merely added to this thread to inform you of this and to let you know I am going and will post a GPS of the campsite gate when I get there

they describe the campsite as being 50 yards from the A35 turning which is why I said I will confirm the position when I visit

My TomTom (v7) shows the camping exactly where it should be.

The only advice I can give is : download the OV2 file again (and try again)

This is wierd  I'll check the position on POIedit befroe I do anything else can only assume an error in download

Hi Gray,

Checked again our position for Newlands Holiday Park, this time with Google Earth, and again I have to say there is nothing wrong with our gps coordinates.
I hope you will find your way to this campsite!

Hi

I have a Becker 7916 would I be able to put the camp site POI'S in it.  It does not come up on list of Sat Navs that is shown. It does say navigon which is where I got speed camera down load from.

I dont want to try and download POI'S and mess the SatNav up if it cant be done

I would appreciate any help

Hi Monty,

I am afraid I have to disappoint you.
There are a few systems (and unfortunately for you Becker is one of them) which has decided to keep their devices closed for external data as poi's. The most important reason is, what I think, a commercial one.

Thankyou for your reply.  I was hopeing that I would be able to add your POI'S, since you can now get speed camera alerts added which you could not before.

I feel sad that Becker Sat Nav's are not able to get down loads as they are good sat nav's, but let down by this.

This night a new update with a lot of corrections has been published.
It is f.e. already possible to download the new CampingCheque 2008 partners for your navigation system.

For those that use Sat Nav this is a fantastic piece of work - thanks to Parafke and Archie for their diligence!!

Unfortunately I have made in my update of yesterday a terrible mistake in the file of CampingCheque campings. Longitude and latitude were changed, so all the CC-campsites were placed in Africa and the Indian Ocean.
In the meantime this error has been removed and you can download the right positions again.

All the other files were correct.

I apoligize for this terrible error!
