As T&T occasionally gets questions concerning camp sites in Holland I thought it may be useful to list the best of the hundreds of campsites available. The German ADAC (equivalent to the AA or RAC) uses the title ?Superplatz? to describe the absolute top in campsites. In total there are only 57 campsites in all of Europe that meet the Superplatz standard, 13 of them being in Holland.
I've listed below most of the Dutch Superplatz?s, so anyone looking for super quality, and perhaps super prices, try these, although a few websites don?t seem to have English versions.

Mike

Most useful post, thank you. Is there a list of all 57 on the web?

David,
I can?t find a complete up-to-date list on the internet but managed to get quite a lot using Google with 'adac superplatz italy'? and ?adac superplatz deutschland'? etc. I did find the complete list for Denmark thou, see below.

The complete list is given in the guide ADAC Camping Caravan F?hrer. Mine is the 1999 edition so a bit out of date. I?ve since learnt there are not 54 but 71 Superplatz for 2006.
Next time I visit our village library I?ll check if they have a more recent edition of the Camping F?hrer .
In the meantime I?ll get on with typing the 1999 list.

Mike,

Good posting, I normally look at the ANWB or VVV recommendations - but getting the views of someone from outside - like ADAC who I use for their excellent tyre recommendations - gives a whole new slant.

Were going Germany to get the caravan serviced in a couple of weeks, then going to Holland for 4 nights and found THIS site, has anyone been?

It`s called Duinrell in Wassenaar
It has a theme park and a great looking water park.

Any reviews would be good.

Thanks in advance

Jason it is an amazing place

The theme park is open to you all the time you are camped there, opens from 10 am until about 6 pm I think, then you can go on any of the rides at all times

The tropical water pool complex in the centre is also fantastic, with waves and flumes and a lazy river, it is free for sometime in the middle of the day but we found it better to pay and go when it is quieter

The actual campsite has the best facilities we have ever seen with special areas for children with childsize toilets, showers and washbasins. (even Kate would approve lol.gif )

There are 2 restaurants, a supermarket, Irish bar and loads of snack bars in the theme park with enough seating for about 3,000 people

However if you want a quiet holiday dont bother it is the busiest campsite we have ever been on with loads happening until quite late at night. The English people we came across there were extremely rowdy

Its about an hours drive to Amsterdam

Great list of quality campsites. We booked here - Camping Ter Spegelt, Eersel, Noord Brabant - and have just got back from two weeks staying there.

Should I write a review?

Sonja
We loved it, the whole site is enormous so had to hire bikes (did`nt take ours because of the weight and going for a service).

Harriet & George went on everything, The water park with 9 slides or flumes, and the small theme park had enough to keep them amused.

A note to anyone going on site they don`t take VISA OR MASTERCARD transactions in the shop so make sure you take your euros with you, but there is a cash machine that does.

Had lots of rain last week much the same as over here i think so some tents had to move to higher pitches because of it.

we will certainly go back next year (maybe a rally in the making Sonja?)
