We have had the Volvo XC60 for 10 months now and can happily say we are still in love with it. For long distance travel the car is exceptionally comfortable and quiet.
As a tow car, we have had no drama's, it just does the job we expect of it. The car is well planted and gives confidence with 1600kg on the back. Solo fuel consumption is around 38 MPG, towing 27 MPG.
On smooth road surfaces the car behaves very well. But add in poorly maintained urban or rural roads the ride quality suffers, but not to the point of being dangerous or uncomfortable. As the car is so good generally, you just feel disappointed when you hit the rough roads.
We have a Volvo supplied and fitted detachable tow hitch., which is a delight. When detached, there is a colour coded cover that hides the receiver from view.
Overall very pleased with our Volvo.
Well the chilli pepper is a year old
I complained to the dealer that the cruise control wasn't any good up hill
I looked at the handbook this week on how to load POI to the Sat Nav and found this clumped with the cruise control and phone connection
On line that jumped out and bit me was
Do not use up hill
Eh Pardon that's ..................what good is a cruise control when you have to switch it off every time you go up hill
Well been using my CRV for nearly a year now and i am delighted with the towing performance and fuel MPG...It tows very well in 6th gear even on slight inclines..The intelligent 4 wheel drive system is fantastic on grass and mud and the change over from 2 wheel to 4 wheel drive is seamless..During the snow recently the 4 wheel drive came into its element when i had to navigate some tricky inclines covered in snow and got me home wihout a problem.I can honestly say this is the best tow-car i have ever driven to date..Highly recommended.
