How much help do your children have as to choosing what they do when they leave school. Kieron just entered year 11 and hasn't received much at all. He is adamant that he doesn't want to do A-levels and Uni but doesn't know what else. He could do a college based apprenticeship (with no income - no EMA), a modern apprenticeship (£85 per week), but what in? He hasn't a clue. He could get a job (not recommended) or join the forces, which he's really keen on the RAF as a Weapons Technician.
I just wondered really, how many 15/16 year olds do actually know what they want to do and how much help do they get?
Your thoughts please

My three have just started year 11 and, while Katie and Paul have some idea about what they want to do, Dave hasn't a clue. Realistically I'll be amazed if any of them end up in the careers they first consider !
They appear to be following my advice at the moment - if you're not certain about what you want to do go on to do A levels and keep your options as wide open as possible.
My brothers boys followed this philosophy and are currently in the middle of their PhD's (Whilst still enjoying all the benefits of University life)
